The President of the Eastern Regional House of Chiefs, Okyenhene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin is also asking Ghanaians to vote YES in the referendum. That local assemblies should not exclusively comprise representatives of political parties as in Parliament”. The Committee pointed out that the relationship between the District Assemblies and traditional authorities was ill-defined. The relationship between chieftaincy and the District Assemblies and their sub-district structures is ill defined, unclear and imprecise.
