An Eldoret man has been sentenced to 36 months in prison after being found guilty of sending abusive messages to his wife. Fidel Ochieng Mbinda, on Monday, July 24, 2023, was sentenced to prison by the Eldoret Court after admitting to the crime of sending abusive messages to his wife, Mrs. Sharon Bwonya, who had a disagreement. The court was told that between July 10 and 19, 2023 in Eldoret, he used his mobile phone to send offensive messages to Ms Bwonya. The prosecutor told the court that the words sent by the accused were so vulgar that the court clerk was embarrassed to read them in court. Delivering the sentence, Eldoret Resident Magistrate Nancy Barasa noted that the words used by the defendant were full of dirt and disrespect for the plaintiff and her parents.
