Everton must raise their £12m (€14m) offer if they are to prise Matias Vecino away from Inter Milan before tonight’s transfer deadline. Carlo Ancelotti is in the market for a midfielder with Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Andre Gomes still on the sidelines having suffered serious injuries this season. Vecino is an option for the Toffees and Inter had looked keen to offload the Uruguayan as they sought to fund their own move to sign Christian Eriksen from Tottenham. Italian outlet Tutto Mercato Web reported earlier this week that Everton had bid £12m for the 28-year-old, who joined Inter from Fiorentina in 2017, but it was rejected.
