The most recent case of vote-buying occurred during the Ayawaso East constituency primaries, which saw Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed emerge as the winner and candidate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Ahead of the Tuesday, March 3, 2026, by-elections, GhanaWeb visited residents of Ayawaso East to hear their views on the practice. Other residents also called for an end to vote buying altogether.
