Though Thomas was confirmed to the court in spite of Hill's testimony, many credit her for kicking off the modern conversation about sexual harassment in the workplace. "Lawyers like to say process matters, but I think that both the hearing in 1991 and the one in 2018 show exactly how much process matters," Hill said Thursday at the New York Times' New Rules Summit in Brooklyn. Hill acknowledged that the cultural change needed to fully eliminate sexual harassment and abuse will take a long time. Whatever the case is, Hill said, employers need to figure out how to get those workers back on track.
