Not surprisingly, in 2018 four were Mickey Mantle’s 1952 Topps, now regarded as the most popular card, surpassing the 1909-1911 T206 tobacco Honus Wagner card ($3.12 million). “No other card has as much stature.”No other card made bigger news in 2018, either. Denver’s History Colorado Center charged $14 admission to see Marshall Fogel’s Mantle and other baseball memorabilia from his world-class collection. The Mantle card was transported to the museum in an armored car, and displayed in its own custom case with UV-lens protection and temperature and humidity control. The forecast is cloudier for lesser grade ’52 Mantles, as Vintage Card Price Guide shows (above).
