Whangārei psychologist Paul Warren Joseph, also known as Paora Joseph, appeared before the New Zealand Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal in Auckland in December in relation to incidents with a female patient in 2004 and 2005. The tribunal’s professional conduct committee alleged Joseph laid beside his patient while he was naked and engaged in sexual conduct during one or more therapy sessions, according to the tribunal decision. “This conduct is self-evidently conduct that falls seriously below the standards expected of any registered psychologist,” Dew said.
