Considering that Roscommon are the overwhelming favourites for relegation from Division One, the two counties could well meet again in the 2027 league. The talent is still there so this is a minefield of a fixture, but one that Westmeath should still win. Last year’s championship defeat to Limerick will then resurface when the Treaty men travel to Mullingar for a game that could be every bit as consequential as that Tailteann Cup game.
