Westland's Hokitika factory will get two new churning machines from Germany giving the dairy company greater production flexibility. Westland Milk Products plans to spend $40 million to upgrade its Hokitika factory in a bid to double production of its consumer butter brand Westgold to 42,000 tonnes a year. The plan had been five years in the making, backed by new owner, global dairy giant Yili.
