(Gary Millershaski)A monster spring storm that spurred deadly tornadoes in Texas and flooding rains in the Ozarks unleashed a raging blizzard in the Western Plains over the weekend. The National Weather Service in Dodge City, Kan., said the snow amounts were “unprecedented” for so late in the season. #KSWX pic.twitter.com/Q92XTcCkGX — NWS Dodge City (@NWSDodgeCity) May 1, 2017Howling winds accompanied the snow, gusting up to 70 mph. Late-Apr blizzard in High Plains and severe/flooding in South/Midwest. In east Texas, a violent thunderstorm on the storm’s south side spawned a large, long-track tornado in Canton that killed at least four people.
