West Bengal: Bhangar limps back to normalcy after 10 days of anti-land grab movement

Almost 10 days after the anti-land grab movement at Bhangar in Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district, the area limped back to normalcy on Wednesday. However, a section of villagers had been protesting and demanded that the state government have a dialogue with them. On the other hand, West Bengal Police arrested the central committee leader of CPI(ML) Red Star, Sharmishtha Choudhury for allegedly leading the movement against the power grid. She reportedly asked the police to arrest leaders of CPI(ML) Red Star, who are leading the agitation. Since then, leaders of CPI(ML) Red Star had been under the scanner of the West Bengal Police.
