Wellness shouldn't be a commodity for the richExercise that costs next to nothing can do great things for your health. The Global Wellness Institute reports that the world wellness economy is worth US $3.7trillion, and that while the wellness industry grew by 10% from 2013 to 2015, the rest of the world's economy shrank. Wellness tourism revenue is the fastest growing tourism expenditure, growing 14% between 2013 and 2015, while overall tourism expenditure rose only 6.9%. This demand ignites an industry that's growing faster worldwide than traditional major industries like manufacturing, financial services, and retail. As someone who works in the wellness industry, at first glance this growth seems like a good thing – especially from a professional and financial standpoint.
