The health, fitness & wellness industry makes billions of dollars annually for corporations like Procter & Gamble, Nike, PepsiCo and Hearst Communications, and a diverse array of smaller businesses. However, the consumer and lived experiences women of color face when they embark on their wellness journeys often leave them wanting more. Burpees + BrunchThe wellness guru's latest venture, a subscription box stuffed with health and fitness products hand selected for women of color, was begun with a crowdfunding campaign launched through Indiegogo last month. "I get asked questions about what health, fitness and wellness products are most appropriate for women of color all the time," says Anicia, who launched Burpees + Brunch from New York in 2014. "Now Burpees + Brunch will get to share the things we really love each and every month—this is beyond exciting!"
