A massive deluge of rain overnight hit the wider Wellington area and caused some flooding, including a "waterfall" on Neville Simpson's Porirua property. Wellington has been hit by a severe thunderstorm on Thursday, damaging houses, causing trees to come down, and even flooding the Stuff Wellington office.
