A house fire on Waipapa Road in Haitaitai was likely caused by painters. Painters are thought to have been the cause of a house fire in the Wellington suburb, Hataitai. A fire broke out in the Waipapa Rd house around lunchtime on Thursday. Incident controller John Devereux said it appeared people stripping paint had accidentally started the fire, which got into a wall and the ceiling. Wanoa said the fire was being fought from inside the house.
