Wellington City Council is appealing against a court’s refusal to let it strengthen the earthquake-prone Adelaide Hotel. Wellington City Council is having another go at getting a court order to strengthen the heritage-listed Adelaide Hotel. In a novel application the council asked Wellington District Court to order that it could undertake unspecified seismic strengthening work on the building which was heritage-listed in the council’s district plan.
