Wellington Phoenix will have to replace 30 goals in the off-season. The A-League club has confirmed that striker David Williams has rejected a new contract and will be moving on after just one season, meaning the Phoenix have now lost their three best players in Williams, Roy Krishna and Filip Kurto. Williams and Krishna combined for 30 goals during the 2018-19 A-League season, with 31-year-old Williams, one of the signings of the campaign, chipping in 11 alongside the Johnny Warren medallist and Golden Boot winner's 19. But they will almost certainly have to look overseas to replace Krishna and Williams, who have both attracted strong interest from cashed up Indian Super League clubs. With Williams' departure now confirmed, all eyes will be on captain Andrew Durante and Tom Doyle, the only two Phoenix players from last season who are yet to announce their plans.
