Wellington Girls' College has sent its junior students home, after structural engineers identified stairwells that needed further investigation. ROSS GIBLIN/FAIRFAX NZ Acting principal Jo Kahn says the school is closing over fears there aren't enough emergency evacuation routes. Kahl said the school had been inspected earlier in the week, but a full inspection on Friday revealed the stairwell cracks. The school has confirmed the school will remain closed for juniors on Monday, but NCEA exams will continue as scheduled.
