(File Photo)Wellington Airport was temporarily shut down early on Monday morning after the discovery of a non-hazardous white powder. "Powder was found by a construction worker in the main terminal and it looked suspicious enough to contact the fire service," Wellington Airport spokesman Greg Thomas said. The airport usually opened at 3.30am, but passengers looking to catch early flights were not allowed into the terminal until about 5.45am. While the white power was later deemed to be non-hazardous, where the powder was found within the terminal was unclear.
