Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has said allowing GMO foods into the country will harm our agricultural sales in the international market. "Once we allow GMOs, we are going to lose the international market, people will fear and Kenya is an agricultural country, we better stick on the natives," he said. Salasya said organic foods can sell in the international market. Consumer Information Network CEO Samuel Ochieng told Kenyans to share their concerns on GMOs to present them to the National Assembly. The committee will be seeking to establish whether GMO foods are safe for human consumption among other issues.
