Share:After the end of the ceasefire with the TTP, there were understandable concerns of where a possible conclusion of talks would leave us. Would it be a resumption of violence or only a cooldown period after which discussions would resume? Without the open support of the IEA, TTP loses its trump card. Beyond this, the group can be isolated and forced into a settlement, or prevented from gaining strength through military action. This is quite naturally to bring peace to Afghanistan, but it is also becoming increasingly clear that achieving this would go a long way in stabilising the region as well.
