This downward trend offers the European Central Bank more cover to keep interest rates unchanged at its meeting this week. The main bank rate remain­ed at 5.25pc at the central bank’s last meeting in November. The Central Bank of Ireland is also expected to publish its gender pay gap report for 2023 tomorrow.
