AYER HITAM: The public has been given a 30-day extension until Sept 30 to renew expired road tax and driving licence, says Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong. The deadline to renew road tax and driving licence that expired since the movement control order (MCO) started on March 18 was originally slated to end on Aug 31. “With this extension, there is no reason for them not to renew their road tax and driving licence, ” Dr Wee said at a Road Transport Department (JPJ) community programme here yesterday. Dr Wee said the ministry had also decided to extend the 70% discount for summonses until Sept 30. “We want to use these programmes to get closer to the rakyat and also educate them on the importance of having a driving licence, ” he added.
