PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong’s latest highlight on the disturbing issues concerning Penang’s controversial mega project centres on the main contractor – China Railway Construction Corporation Ltd (CRCC). Dr Wee also rebuked Guan Eng for suggesting that Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai was putting pressure on CRCC to withdraw from the mega project. “Since he insists that CRCC is still the main contractor for the project, it would have been easy for him to get CRCC to issue a denial,” he said. Dr Wee also pointed out that Guan Eng recently said that CRCC has not been in contact with the state government and this has set alarm bells ringing. “CM Guan Eng, I thought the appointment of the main contractor was the prerogative of SPV and has nothing to do with the state government?” asked Dr Wee.
