That’s a bigger opening day than Frozen ($15.1m) and just under the $15.8m opening day of Big Hero 6. With rave reviews and white-hot buzz, the only question is whether this will be as leggy as Frozen, Tangled, and The Good Dinosaur. The Good Dinosaur fell 33% on Thanksgiving day while Tangled both fell 32%. Oh, speaking of which, if Moana makes it to $93.6m, it will be the second-biggest Thanksgiving weekend ever behind Catching Fire. We’ll see how close Fantastic Beasts and Doctor Strange end up on the domestic box office charts.
