Sylvio de Barros, the founder of two leading automotive marketplaces in Brazil — WebMotors and ICarros — has died at the age of 57. De Barros, who also founded ZFlow and was well known in the local marketplaces and technology sectors, died on 27 May in Joanopolis, a rural area in Sao Paulo state, G1 reported. In addition to having founded multiple companies, De Barros was also a racing driver, participating in the Porsche Cup, the Dakar Rally and motorcycle race Rally dos Sertoes.”“Yesterday, we said goodbye to Sylvio de Barros, founder at ICarros,” the Itau-owned automotive vertical said in a Facebook post. “We deeply regret the early departure of Sylvio de Barros, a visionary entrepreneur who founded WebMotors in 1995 and led our company until 2022,” the company said in a LinkedIn post. “His contribution to the technology and automotive sectors will be always remembered and valued among us,” it added.
