Heavy storms will sweep across the nation in the next couple of days Tom Welland/TwitterA weekend of sunny weather looks set to end abruptly this evening as a giant storm hits the UK. The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for tomorrow and Tuesday across Britain, from the northernmost tip of Scotland to Land’s End. It said that heavy rain and thunderstorms may lead to flooding and disruption to travel. Forecasters say there is “a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes hail or strong winds”. They also warn of possible difficult driving conditions and a small chance of power cuts and danger to life from fast-flowing water.
