Weather in Bangladesh to remain topsy-turvy in May, says Met office


One or two extreme heat waves may hit north and north-western zone while two or three mild heat waves may sweep through other parts of the country during this month. Mild heat wave occurs when mercury rises to 36-38 degrees Celsius while medium heat wave is marked with temperature around 40 degrees Celsius. Severe heat wave is when temperature goes up than 40 degrees Celsius. Depression in the Bay of Bengal may turn into a tropical cyclone, met office predicts. Mild heat waves were reported from Rajshahi, Khulna and Dhaka divisions in between Apr 10 and 14 while from Rajshahi and Khulna divisions witnessed the heat waves once again from Apr 26-29.
