Nasa has again postponed a launch attempt of its super pressure balloon from Wanaka this morning. Nasa said today's attempt was cancelled because of due to poor weather at ground and surface levels. Wind speeds were just slightly above those required for launch, and with the possibility of rain in the area, the team made the decision to postpone for the day. It is the third postponement in recent days after a mechanical issue hit yesterday's attempt and Saturday's bid was cancelled owing to unacceptable stratospheric wind conditions. No attempt is scheduled for tomorrow, and Nasa will decide tomorrow afternoon if Wednesday’s weather will support a launch attempt.
