Few people have heard of the Sof Omar Caves but they are worth knowing. The caves are one of National Geographic’s top 10 sacred caves. Sof Omar Caves are a labyrinth of caves stretching approximately 15 km in the Bale Mountains. The Sof Omar has 42 entrances, but generally, only four can be used for entrance. Sof Omer Caves are an important Islamic Shrine named after the saintly Sheikh Sof Omar who took refuge here many centuries ago.
