While the friendships you make in adulthood are important, you can’t always get to that kid-like place so easilyI remember thinking that those big film cases seemed like the boxes magicians put ladies inside to saw in two. Tony was the first person my own age that I’d ever meet who seemed to be “on a path.”After college, we became roommates. Before leaving, Tony’s mother would tear through the house on what we called “the underwear hunt.” She’d search high and low for Tony’s dirty laundry, which she found everywhere. We started off as boys trying to act like men, and now we are men who cherish the opportunity to act like boys. And while the friendships you make in adulthood are important, you can’t always get to that kid-like place so easily, not like the way you can with a man you call Tintolay.
