Alfie's parents, Kate James and Tom Evans, from Bootle, received devastating news earlier this week that European judges denied their bid to examine their court battle with Alder Hey Children's Hospital. People of all ages held banners saying "Save Alfie" and "We stand 4 Alfie", the Liverpool Echo reports.
