This call was made by Head of Civil Society and Political Advocacy at Global Fund, Linda Mafu at a meeting with the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health Monday evening. According to her, the money will go a long way in saving a target of 60million lives worldwide. “Help us to get the government to call on the donors to increase their allocation in terms of their contribution to the Global Fund in order for us to save lives and support the progress we have made,” she appealed to the committee. “We need you to help us remind the donors that we are a global family, we need global collaboration, we need global solidarity to make sure that we save people’s lives.”The fund also hopes to receive domestic investment of US$46 billion toward ending the three diseases and strengthening health systems through co-financing requirements, and technical assistance on health financing.
