Foreign Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said today that they hope India, too, would support Sri Lanka at the UN Human Rights Council where a resolution is to be tabled against the country on Monday. We hope that India too, will support us this time,” he said responding to a question raised by journalists at the Foreign Ministry. “Over the years, various allegations have been levelled against our country, alleging human rights abuses. After our government was elected, a Presidential Commission has been appointed to investigate human rights allegations. We hope that India too, will support us this time.”, said Minister Gunawardena.
