The Savelugu youth backed by constituency executives had aggressively rejected her appointment and blocked access to her office following accusations that she was not a resident and also did not contribute to the progress of the party in the constituency. The youth clashed with the security forces who had fired copious rubber bullets and tear gas to break away the protesters. After continued fluid deliberations with stakeholders including Chiefs and opinion leaders, the youth agreed to accept and support Hajia Seidu as the MCE. The embattled MCE also briefly thanked the people for now accepting to work with her and promised an all-inclusive administration.
