Activities of Yoyo Resources Recycling Limited Company, owned by a Chinese, expose residents of Orimerunmu, a sleepy community in Ogun State, to environmental pollutions that already take toll on some residents’ health. The black dust is generated during the production process of Yoyo Resources Recycling Limited Company, a Chinese firm that uses charcoal and firewood to power a furnace filled with disused tyres to produce pyrolysis oil. The environmental degradation caused by the recycling company has been a concern that residents of Orimerunmu community have lived with since 2019 when the Chinese company opened for business in the backwater town. Victor said that his aged mother’s condition persisted when the recycling company moved into the area.
