The Aqua Dome has been closed since 2020, with hopes for an Easter re-opening in 2021 dashed by further lock-down restrictions. "We're just in limbo at this point in time, all we are doing is listening to Government guidelines," Mr Reen said. "I believe that the Aqua Dome is too important to Tralee to think it will close," he said. Summer is vital to Tralee Aqua Dome as it makes 50 per cent of its annual income in July and August. In 2019, the Aqua Dome attracted 126,000 visitors.
