Christopher Landon’s supernatural Netflix Caper ‘We Have a Ghost’ has the potential of an enjoyable mashup of Friday the 13th and Freaky Friday, but unfortunately never had the chance to reach a substantial crowd. It has all the speedy spirit of Landon’s previous work, like Disturbia, Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, and Happy Death Days 1 and 2. The central bond between Kevin and the ghost is limited, as the ghost is unable to talk and his backstory is quickly revealed. There is some interesting tension between Frank and Kevin, but the energy of Landon’s previous suburban mystery Disturbia is missing. It’s not an awful film, but does unfortunately feel lacking in fresh content and emotional heft.
