English football star Wayne Rooney was arrested in December at the Dulles Airport outside Washington, D.C. for public intoxication, according to local police. Earlier on 1 September 2017, Rooney was arrested by Cheshire police in Wilmslow after he was caught driving over the prescribed alcohol limit. He pleaded guilty to drink driving after he appeared to Stockport Magistrates' Court on 18 September. Rooney was fined £170 and banned from driving for two years. He was also ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work as part of a twelve-month community order.
