- Englshman Wayne Rooney has made it clear that he wants Mauricio Pochettino to replace Mourinho at Man United- United will name a permanent manager at the end of the ongoing season and Rooney believes Pochettino is the manManchester United legend Wayne Rooney has enjoined the management of the club to hire Argentine football coach Mauricio Pochettino as the club's next permanent manager. Jose Mourinho was recently sacked by Manchester United chief, and he has been replaced with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer who began his reign as manager on a winning note. Asked who he wants to be the next permanent manager of United – Solskjaer, Zinedine Zidane or Pochettino – Rooney replied simply: ‘Poch.’Michael Owen and Danny Gabbidon, who were also in the studio, both agreed that Pochettino was the number one man for the job. The 45-year-old Norwegian football manager replaces former manager Jose Mourinho who was thrown out of the club because of poor results. He will be joined by Mike Phelan as first-team coach, together with Michael Carrick and Kieran McKenna this season at Old Trafford.
