A $1 million grant from Wawa to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida aims to change that statistic by increasing the amount of fresh produce sent home with kids who are experiencing food insecurity. With support from the Central Florida community, Second Harvest Food Bank is feeding inspiration, change, achievement, health — and families facing hunger. As home delivery of milk declined in the early 1960s, Grahame Wood, George’s grandson, opened the first Wawa Food Market in 1964 as an outlet for dairy products.
