Dudley Park in Rangiora has closed its pool due to a local case of cryptosporidium. A waterborne parasite that causes diarrhoea has closed an aquatic centre in North Canterbury. Cryptosporidium (also called crypto) is a waterborne parasite that can cause diarrhoea and make its host feel sick. Pool staff were told a local person had the parasite and had recently swam at Dudley Park. Anyone who had recently swam at Dudley Park and is feeling unwell should talk to their GP.
