Sprinkler use remains restricted in Hamilton and surrounding areas (file photo.) Water restrictions have been lifted in most parts of the Waikato district on Monday. Areas that receive their water supply from Hamilton City Council - Hamilton, Tauwhare, Gordonton and Matangi - remain at water alert level two. This restricts sprinkler use to two hours in the morning and two hours in the evening on alternate days. Waikato District Council waters manager Karl Pavlovich said residents effectively managed water usage throughout the hot, dry summer which meant most of the district only reached water alert level one in early December.
