NHL beat writer Rob Tychkowski talks to sports editor Craig Ellingson from Anaheim, Calif., where Ken Hitchcock will coach the Edmonton Oilers against the host Ducks on Friday, Nov. 23, 2018. Tychkowski talks about Hitchcock’s approach to coaching and how he hopes to shape the Oilers’ play. Hitchcock was hired Tuesday as the NHL team’s coach after Todd McLellan was fired. Hitchcock, 66, had retired from coaching in April but came out of retirement for the Oilers’ job. He previously coached the Dallas Stars twice — winning the Stanley Cup with them in 1999 — the Philadelphia Flyers, the Columbus Blue Jackets and the St. Louis Blues.
