Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Qauder could not hold back his tears when he learnt of the horrible fate the Rohingya refugees had escaped when they fled to Bangladesh. The minister was in Unchiprang area of Teknaf upazila, Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday to distribute relief items among the refugees. During the relief distribution, Obaidul, also the general secretary of ruling Awami League, lost his composure and became emotional after he listened to some of the refugees describe the gruesomeness of the military persecution in Myanmar’s Rakhine state. “These Rohingya have not eaten for who knows how many days. Obaidul also distributed relief in Kutupalong and Baluchali refugee camps on Monday.
