The US Embassy in Libya has expressed commitment to fully support the UN envoy, Jan Kubis as he undertakes his new mission focused most on confirmation of the new interim government and preparations for elections in December. This came during a meeting between Kubis and the US Ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, in Tunisia, on Saturday, according to a statement by the US embassy in Libya. The embassy explained that the meeting was part of the Special Envoy familiarization travels in the region, noting that Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Karen Sasahara participated by video from Washington.
