The rush to secure a washable, fabric mask offered by the government for free, has led to more than a million online registrations as of midday. The CuMask+ orders opened for registration at 7:00am today after the distribution was announced yesterday. Registrations will continue until next month. The Secretary for Innovation and Technology Alfred Sit Wing-hang, said details of the manufacturer were not disclosed due to concerns that production of filters could be impeded. Referring to public views that the mask looks “like underwear,” Sit said they should be used and washed everyday like underwear.
