Moiben MP Silas Tiren was on Thursday elected the new Agriculture Committee chairman, taking over from Mandera South lawmaker Adan Ali. Laikipia Woman representative Catherine Waruguru was also elected vice chairperson of the committee. Tiren was elected Agriculture Committee Chairman in 2017, trouncing Ali, who was Jubilee’s preferred candidate. In the Parliamentary Broadcasting and Library Committee, Shinyalu MP Justus Kizito and Nyamira Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi were elected chairperson and vice chairperson. Limuru MP Peter Mwathi and Gideon Koske (Chepalungu) will serve the departmental Committee on Labour and Social Welfare as chairman and vice chairperson.
