Warrington power pole replacement aborted due to incorrect notification

More than 100 households went without power briefly yesterday when Powernet crews cut the power in Warrington and then restored it after realising their work had not been properly publicly notified. Because of this, the work was stopped about 10.15am, 45 minutes after the power was cut, Mr Franklin said. When Warrington residents were informed of the planned outage originally scheduled for March 9, a March 16 alternate date was listed. The company website was not updated. The work would go ahead, but residents could expect a new notice that gave them 20 days’ notification, Mr Franklin said.
