Last week, Warner Music Group reported its highest quarterly revenue in its 16 years as a stand-alone company. Warner’s family of record labels — including Atlantic Records, Warner Records, Elektra Records and Parlophone Records — features some of the world’s biggest artists, including Ed Sheeran, Cardi B and Lizzo. Warner was the first major music company to report that streaming was the largest source of its recorded music revenue in 2016. James Steven, executive vice president of communications and marketing at Warner Music Group, declined to give further comment on the potential IPO.
